Out of the Box: Printmakers and the Portfolio Exchange
This exhibition will celebrate the unique and longstanding tradition of collaborative portfolios within the print medium. Printmakers have a strong sense of collaboration and community as well as a reverence for tradition and the multiple. These print exchanges are prized among printmakers as a way to explore various themes, commemorate important events and come together as artists. Out of the Box, features work by 36 professional printmakers from around the country and includes exceptional examples of all major printmaking techniques. This exhibition was curated by printmaking professor Tracy Otten at the University of Minnesota, Morris, from portfolio collaborations she has participated in over the past 15 years. This is an impressive collection of works--featuring some of the most recognized printmakers working in the field.
